Information for Restaurants and Bars
On Tuesday, May 19th, 2009, Governor Beverly Perdue signed into law a bill which will prohibit smoking in all restaurants and bars across North Carolina. This law will become effective on January 2nd, 2010. The law requires enclosed areas of restaurants and bars to be smoke-free and smoking is also banned in enclosed areas of hotels, motels, and inns, if food and drink are prepared there.
